My college, "Summer Help Job", which turned
into 18 years at General Mills, ended when our plant was "sold" in an expansion deal. General Mills bought Pilsbury.The "Deal"
could only get Federal approval if General Mills did not monopolise the Desert Business. A new company was "given"
the GM Toledo Plant, which housed a Cereal Division and a Betty Crocker Desert Division. The
sales completion created the huge, new, and approved General Mills/Betty Crocker/Pilsbury Conglomerate.
My job was gone.
This gave me the "Great Opportunity" to look for employment
outside the General Mills "BOX" I have lived in!

Work History
I performed every job imaginable during my
18 years at General Mills. I worked in PACKAGING MAINTENANCE. I installed, repaired, operated, modified,
designed, developed, and removed assembly line machinery. My MAINTENANCE responsibilites also included the equipment
supplying materials and product to the lines, and equipment removing the finished goods. I
did record keeping, bookkeeping, supply and inventory control daily. Maximo Software was used for Maintenance records, and
endless paperwork documented production. Forklift operation, Welding, and Federal Sanatation Regulations were also a
daily MUST at a 500+ employee food production facility. As Union Representative, I saw the importance of total
cooperation and communicationin. I also worked at the General Mill Credit Union, doing
Credit Screening and Loan Approval, similar to when I was a BANKTELLER. I have been in
school since the closure of General Mills.
I moved to the Phoenix area in January
and began working at America West. With FREE flight benefits I could fly back to my home in Ohio on weekends and "SELL"
my home. Currently I work at the Department of Homeland Security at Sky Harbor and also Bank Of America
in Scottsdale.
